Deleting doubles of concerts
Sometimes concerts are added multiple times even though they are the same concert. So sometimes like 5 entries of the same concert exist (for example Rock en Seine is one I attended where I didn’t know which one was the right one to add cause there were so many)
13 votesWe run processes every night that automatically searches and merges duplicate concerts. We've already merged almost 1,000,000 duplicate concerts! Typically when you find that duplicates still show on the site it's because some of the information doesn't match up. For example, the Venue name or the Location will be slightly wrong. We are continuously working to clean up data like that which will always be an ongoing effort.
As far as fact checking, we have people on our team that do that too but due to the sheer volume of concerts that are always happening we rely on our users to submit corrections and help with that. Thank you!

Can a rule be set that does not allow US state abbreviations and auto corrects for location?
Concerts are showing up as two different cities as in the attached example. Utica, New York has 788 concerts and Utica, NY has 86 concerts, yet they are the same place. This could also be standardized for imported concerts such as Songkick.
https://www.concertarchives.org/locations?utf8=%E2%9C%93&search=Utica%252C+ny
0 votesHey there, we do account for state abbreviations for the US, Canada, and Australia when we do concert imports from 3rd party services. The trouble is typically from users who input the locations manually as there typically isn't enough info (a valid country name, etc) for us to infer that they are abbreviating a state name. I'm going to mark this idea as 'Completed' but there are always improvements that we can make as we continue to build systems to standardize the data. Thanks for submitting this suggestion! --Justin

Pictures/videos only show up on the artists page if they are specifically tagged not just if they played in a show.
For example I went to a festival and all my tons of festival videos show up on each artist’s page although I specifically tagged who is who.
3 votesThanks for the suggestion! We've added this feature so now on the band's Photos/Videos page you can click the 'Tagged Only' filter to only show Photos/Videos where the band has been specifically tagged.
This isn't too useful yet because most people don't tag their photos (and it wasn't an option until recently in the mobile app) but hopefully this will encourage more people to utilize the tags.

update locations
Taylor County Expo Center is not in Dallas. It is in Abilene Texas. This should be updated.
3 votesWe've corrected this, thanks for letting us know! If you come across issues like this in the future, you can email them to [email protected].

Your list of genres needs to add Progressive Rock. Many, if not most, of the bands I have seen fall into this category.
Your list of genres needs to add Progressive Rock. Many, if not most, of the bands I have seen fall into this category.
1 voteThe 'Progressive Rock' genre is already present and contains about 8,000 bands. We have plans in the future to add functionality so that you can browse the different genres, correct genres for bands, and things like that.

add an option where you can indicate which bands you went to at a festival
You could add an option where you can indicate which bands you saw at a festival so those show up in your seen bands and so it doesnt count the artists you didnt actually see
1 voteThis functionality already exists. More info here: http://concertarchives.uservoice.com/knowledgebase/articles/1966166

Add a (de)select all button for bands
Add a deselect all button for bands at festivals. At many multistage festivals, one only sees a small fraction of the bands. To make it easier to quickly enter your info, it’d be cool to have a deselect all button, instead of deselecting hundreds of bands (e.g. for FEST)
10 votesThis has been added! It's live on the website now and will be included in the soon-to-be-released Version 5 of the mobile app that includes tons of features that were previously only available on the website and not in the app.

Only include bands actually seen in totals
Currently users can tick the bands actually seen at gigs/festivals (which is a great feature!), although when looking at the number of gigs per artist and the ranking of most watched artists, all artists at these festivals are included. It would be great if artists were only included in these totals and statistics if they have actually been ticked as seen.
For example, my gig total for my number one artist is actually one higher than it should be, due to missing them at a festival in the past before I was a fan - it would be great to…
3 votesHey there, bands that are marked as "not seen" don't count toward your stats. Have a look at your concerts where the band played to make sure they are all marked seen or 'not seen' accurately. If it still doesn't look like it's adding up correctly, send an email to [email protected] with a link to the specific band and we can take a look.
Cheers,
Justin

Allow for setlist refresh without having to edit concert
Without having to go into edit concert, navigate to advanced settings and check the box; I believe it would be better if we could just have a setlist refresh button if possible.
2 votesThis is completed. There is now a link on the main concert page to refresh the setlists rather than having to edit the concert. Thanks for the suggestion!

add option to merge venues listed under multiple names
Saw the Troubadour issue, but can't find Report Issue. In Stockholm, Sweden, Johanneshovs Isstadion is duplicated under the shorter name Isstadion
4 votesThese have been merged together. Sorry it took so long, the 'Ideas' list isn't actively monitored. If you come across issues like this in the future, you can email us at [email protected] instead to receive a quicker response.

Searching users by location
I'd love to be able to search for other users on the app that are close to me, especially those who have seen similar artists as me
2 votesThis mostly exists already on the website and will come to the app eventually. On the website, under the ‘Social’ menu there is a page for Recommended Users who are people who attended the same concerts or saw a lot of the same bands.
And from the ‘Users’ page (https://www.concertarchives.org/users), you can use the search box to search for locations (like ‘Portland’) and find other users who have that as their location in their profile info.

Cancellation option
I would love to be able to keep concerts for which I had tickets but that got cancelled in my list maybe with like big letters cancelled behind it.
1 voteYou can now set concerts as ‘Cancelled’ or ‘Rescheduled’! To do that, go to the concert’s ‘Edit’ page and then click ‘Advanced Options’.
Thanks for the suggestion :)

Add a "private" option to uploaded videos & photos
I really like the idea of using Concert Archives as a digital scrapbook of my Concert experiences, but I'm not sure everyone wants to see pics of my ticket stubs. Making them private so they only show up on my archive may help with that!
2 votesThis is now an option on the website. We'll be adding this functionality to the mobile apps soon.

Shortening Festivals to Bands You Saw
Moving this over to the feature request list as suggested. For the larger festivals with lots of bands and artists performing we have the option to check off the ones we actually saw which is really great. When you look back to your full concert list it showcases all of them, which becomes very clunky. This would specifically be neat for festivals but really any type of concert is that your personal concert list only showcases the bands you've checked off under the tour name. You can still see all the artists there when you go to the concerts page…
5 votesThis is completed! On your concert page, the list of bands that you saw are big and bold. The ones you didn’t see are all grouped together in a small text list so they don’t take much room.
Thanks for the suggestion!

photo of the concert ticket
I collect tickets for the shows I've seen - I am missing a few so would love if others posted their tickets,I could at least make a copy for my collection! Plus it gives info as to time it started, the cost of the ticket, etc.
1 voteHi there,
This is already possible. Users can upload photos of their tickets just like any concert photo and they can add the tag ‘Ticket’ to the photo.
Cheers,
Justin

Way to link bands of the same name to setlist.fm to ensure setlists are correctly retrieved
It would be very helpful to allow someway to link duplicate bands to the correct artist on setlist.fm to ensure the setlist is retrieved
8 votesWe released a backend feature recently to fix this! If you come across examples where an artist is consistently getting linked to the setlists for a different artist, you can email us at [email protected] and we can easily get those properly linked up now!

Add "cancelled" tag to concert that was scheduled but abandoned or cancelled
Would be great to get insight into performances that were scheduled for a specific date, but were cancelled. Perhaps a "Rescheduled" tag could be used to define shows that were cancelled, but a future date has been set.
This would be good for venues or promoters to see which artists or acts are more likely to cancel when trying to attract talent or promote a show.
Right now, there are no databases that provide this information in an organized fashion.
6 votesYou can now set concerts as ‘Cancelled’ or ‘Rescheduled’! To do that, go to the concert’s ‘Edit’ page and then click ‘Advanced Options’.

Add feature to post what items you got
Add a section where you can either say whether you got a T-shirt or other merch at the show or a setlist/pick/drumstick.
1 voteThe best place to put this info would be as a Comment on the concert page. If you have a photo/video you can also tag that photo/video as ‘Merch’.
Cheers,

Way to differentiate different artists with the same name.
I've seen two different artists who both go by the same name, and are grouped together for statistics, understandably. Maybe some way to separate them, such as where they're from?
1 voteYes, the way to do this is to add the location in parenthesis after the band name of the smaller band. For example, say there was a bigger band named Mono, for the Mono in Japan you’d enter it as “Mono (JP)”.
You can do this yourself by editing the concert(s) that the smaller band played, removing the band, and adding the new band with the location in parenthesis.
