I mostly go to shows with the same 3-4 friends, tried to convince them to create an account but they don’t care about statistics and nostalgia so they won’t. 😂 But I like the idea of having a list of friends to say you attended the concert with that aren’t linked to any email or account. Just so you could see the statistics of how many shows you saw with this or that friend. If that ghost account could later be linked to a true account, that would be even better. A good incentive for my friends to create a CA account would be « oh you don’t even have to add all the concerts we went to together, I already mentioned you were there ! » so they could « claim » a ghost account’s history when they would finally create their CA account.

Starting “The Big Clean” now!
This is a really big project and is going to consist of a bunch of small projects to make sure things stay cleaner and more standardized in the future.
And a lot of it will be behind the scenes so don’t be surprised if you aren’t seeing much happening.

I see so many duplicates of the same show… I think it would help if we had an option to flag them… is there one ?

I’m curious if there are other users who would be interested in a forum to discuss concerts, etc.
I’ve been receiving a lot of email lately from people with questions about specific concerts that I’m just not able to respond to. A forum might be a good solution where the community can help each other.

YESSS, link concertgoers together so they can answer their questions about the shows amongst themselves and make new friends 💕 Also, updates on the status of upgrades on the app/website would be great.

You are definitely not alone! I’m pretty into show posters as well and will think about this for a future update.
Appreciate the suggestion!

Could the « mark as gig poster » checkbox place the picture on the main board of the concert ? It could be the size of a profile picture on the left of your concert list to make it easy for viewers to spot wich festivals/tours you saw :) And if you’re too lazy to add your personal pictures to an event like me but see that there is no gig poster picture yet, this could give you just enough motivation to add that one picture. Hope this helps this already great suggestion :)

We’ll be working on this soon. It’s scheduled to be done after we validate the city info (which is nearly done).

Nearly done in April 2021… where are we on this project now ? Did it start ? I don’t mean to be pushy at all, I appreciate all the team’s work on this app/website, but would like updates on the changes that are made/in the making. If it’s already somewhere, could someone point me in the right direction please ? 😅

We're working on this!
One thing we've found is that entering a time can be kind of subjective though. For example some people might enter the time that the doors open, or when the concert was scheduled to start, or when the concert actually started, or when the headliner went on.
Rather than give the option to enter any time, our plan is to add options for "Non-Standard Times". For example if the concert was an "Early Show" or an "After Party" or a "VIP Soundcheck". That sort of thing.
Our hope is that solves the problem of false-positive duplicate concerts being merged together because they share all the same date/location/venue/band while also not creating a bunch of "real duplicate" concerts due to slightly mismatched times.

The setlists from setlist.fm are already being displayed, why not import the set times too ? They just added this feature, and the doors opening, scheduled start and actual start time are already distincts. + it’s already separated by artists/bands, so it would simplify the makeover of the festival section. Hope this helps !

I used my last vote on this idea because it’s just perfect. Well written, totally feasible and user-friendly. That way, you could also mark which day/set was cancelled instead of cancelling the whole thing (hello Blue Ridge Rock Festival 2023 and the 2 days and a half you cancelled 👀). This should be done even before the big clean up, because the longer you wait, the more duplicates/incorrect data you let the users create and have to cleanup after anyway… Everything Barry Carter wrote is gold ✨

Good suggestion :)
We’re going to be working on features specific to festivals and will likely add this. It’s going to be a bit before that but it’s on the road map!

This should have a pretty high priority on your roadmap because in the meantime it creates so many duplicates of different days/lineups or incomplete data that you’ll have to cleanup later. The feature to suggest ideas/modifications is great, but having a way to see what’s actually in the works or programmed to be would be great. In other words, I’d like to be able to get an idea of the actual roadmap. I saw some 2023 suggestions but no admin comment from this year so far. So where are we on what was planned ? What’s going on ? Please let us know :)

I’m out of votes but regarding what happened at the Blue Ridge Rock Festival this year, this feature would be so crucial. 2 days 1/2 out of 4 were cancelled, and you can only mark the whole thing as cancelled or not cancelled at all. + there were already 4 duplicates last time I checked, with different lineups, because people only add what bands they saw or played, not all the bands planned for the festival. I wish mrblond’s idea was incorporated!

I know this could be complicated as band lineups change a lot but maybe the band lineup could be customizable on shows ? You could link this information to the Wikipedia database maybe. So if a band member is absent and replaced by someone else, you could mention that, and you could have stats by artists. For example, Jonny Craig changed band three times already and is now touring as a solo artist. If I saw Emarosa, Slaves and him as a solo artist, I would have seen him as an artist three times, while the stats for the bands Emarosa and Slaves would have 1 instance. I think this would be a great way to have your stats for all the different projects of the same person links to them AND the person. Also, adding a special appearance/featuring guest to a concert would be fairly easy this way. I commented on another suggestion somewhere how great it would be to be able to add special experiences to a concert (the suggestion said VIP/meet&greet/artists encounters, etc and I added « object(s) caught » as in picks, setlists, drumsticks etc) but a special appearance of a guest artist could be one of those special experiences too.

Adding features specifically for festivals is something we definitely want to do!
Please post your ideas about what features you’d like to see and we’ll take them under consideration when we start our planning for this.
Thank you!

Also, this would allow you to mark days or even part of days as « cancelled » without cancelling the whole thing (hello Blue Ridge Rock Festival 2023, I’m talking about you!)

GREAT IDEA ! That way you could have a count of every VIP/meet&greets/unofficial encounters with band members on your profile ! Also how great would it be to add a checkbox for « object(s) caught » and you could specify if you caught a pick, drumstick, setlist, towel, water bottle, T-shirt, confetti, inflatable balls, chocolate/candies or whatever the artists throw in the crowd sometimes ! 😝

Oh how would that simplify the Blue Ridge Rock Festival 🥲
UPDATE : I convinced two of my friends to create their CA accounts 😍 But still, I couldn’t « tag them » into show we saw together by their username, and I don’t know wich email addresses they linked to their CA accounts… it would help if we had more freedom when it comes to adding an attendee to a show (username, ghost account, etc)
