De-dupe and standardize data
I would prefer a focus on completely de-duping and standardizing the existing data before adding any new features.
81 votesStarting “The Big Clean” now!
This is a really big project and is going to consist of a bunch of small projects to make sure things stay cleaner and more standardized in the future.
And a lot of it will be behind the scenes so don’t be surprised if you aren’t seeing much happening.

Group together Venues that have changed names
Venues change names over the years do to new ownership, remodels or sponsor changes. There should be option to link former venue names together cause it is the same place. Example Blockbuster Desert Sky Pavillion changed to Cricket Pavillion, then Ashley Home Furnature Pavillion, now it is Ak-Chin Pavillion (All Same Place). So now you've seen 30 shows at the same venue instead of 5 shows at six different named venues!

Interactive Map!
Much like the old Instagram feature, users would be able to see their concert locations on an interactive map. Would be able to zoom in and out and see how many times they attended a show at a certain location.

"Who did you go with" without e-mail addresses
I love the "who did you go with" feature but I can't use it because I don't have e-mail addresses of many of them (especially for my early concerts in the '90s-'00s..) or because I don't want to involve them (I'd prefer a "invite friends" option for that). If there's some privacy issues I suggest to not write complete names: es. John S. for John Smith.

Let users Import past concert data from Setlist.fm.
Let users Import past concert data from Setlist.fm. (Maybe Last.fm and facebook data too?) See profile here http://www.setlist.fm/user/bitsy
39 votesI just had a thought on how we might be able to enable this in a slightly different way.
Like I said previously, creating new concerts in our database with the concerts you've marked in Setlist.fm won't work well because they only allow a single band per concert instead of multiple bands like out site and others.
So instead of creating new concerts, we could try to match up your Setlist.fm history with concerts that already exist in our database and automatically mark you as an attendee of those.
It's likely that this process won't transfer all of your concerts (like if a concert isn't in our database or if it doesn't match up for some reason) but it could get a majority and give you a head start in bringing your concerts over.
We have a pretty full ToDo list at the moment, so it wouldn't happen right away,…

Enable adding videos directly onto the website (from your laptop, tablet or phone).
This feature would give you the opportunity to upload videos you made to a concert, even if you don't work with YouTube to store all your concert videos.

More analytics
Automatically generate favorite genre, months most likely to go to shows, a timelines visually showing the number of concerts seen per month/year, this is a long shot, but scrape concert ticket prices to show how much you invest in concerts

Add a REST API
Provide a REST API so that third party developer tools, or programmers wishing to tinker with automation, can automatically / programmatically enter data and get information from your website via programming languages that support REST-ful APIs

Change the verbiage 'Bands' to 'Artists'
I go to a variety of shows of many genres. I would consider a lot of these either DJs, singers, rappers, etc. Not all fall under the category of band.

Different features for festivals
I think there should be a checkbox for a show vs. a festival. With this, if it is a festival, having a breakdown by stage (in the order the bands played the stages) would be nice to have.
29 votesAdding features specifically for festivals is something we definitely want to do!
Please post your ideas about what features you’d like to see and we’ll take them under consideration when we start our planning for this.
Thank you!

Duplicate Event warning
If you add the same event twice to your list by accident you will get a notification about duplicate events.
25 votesThis is on our roadmap. We’re working a lot on addressing duplicates now and doing it in stages. First was duplicate Locations which is done. We’re almost done with duplicate Venues. Then will be duplicate Bands and duplicate Concerts last.
In this process we’re cleaning up a lot of the existing duplicates and also adding verification checks when you add a new concert.

Ability to add a band twice to the same concert
i.e. when a band plays two sets the same day of a festival. Currently it only counts as seeing the band once.
25 votesWhile it’s possible to add a band to a concert multiple times currently, it doesn’t function the way you would expect (as some people have pointed out in the comments).
In particular, if you add the band twice, it still only counts as seeing them once in your stats. There are also some other minor things like when you mark one of the instances seen/unseen it automatically marks all instances for that band.
This is on our roadmap to fix but since it’s a fairly rare situation it’s pretty low on our list at the moment behind things like data cleanup, etc.
Thanks for surfacing this idea/bug!

Separate band list per day when multiple days concert/festival is enabled
It would be nice when you mark multiple days, to have a band list per day.
pros:
- you will be able to mark the real day you see the bands.
- you will be able to create a more accuracy bands order as recommended in the guidelines.cons:
- none :)24 votes -
Add a space for gig posters- maybe collaborate with another site (expressobeans.com or similar)
In addition to going to shows I enjoy collecting the gig posters from the shows- I don't think I'm alone. It's a peripheral space to tracking the concerts themselves but I don't think I'm alone. In particular like tracking the limited release gig-specific releases.
21 votesYou are definitely not alone! I’m pretty into show posters as well and will think about this for a future update.
Appreciate the suggestion!

Exclude future concerts from concert counts
Currently the # of concerts I have "been to" or "seen" includes future concerts, is it possible to only include concerts that have already happened?

Social Media Integration
Add a social share/social media integration with Facebook, twitter, instagram, etc. I recently received a concert archive email with the show where I met my wife 11 years ago. It would be interesting to be able to post that via social media. I feel like that sort of feed would generate a lot of interest in this site as well.

Better Interface for capturing festival information
Loving the site and it's helping me get rid of my really long spreadsheet finally.
I go to lots of festivals and I feel like the interface works really well for single day concerts but not so well for festivals. Some feedback and issues listed below:
- It would be nice to state what day of the festival the band played, so Slipknot played on day 1 of the festival for example. Or if they played multiple times, then Day 1 and 2.
- it would be nice to be able to mark an event as a festival, which enables different features.

Editing Bands on Edit Concert Page
If I made a typo typing in a band's name, I cannot edit the band's name in the 'edit concert' page. I must remove bands and re-add them individually.

allow you to check which day(s) you attended multi-day concerts
I've gone to several multi-day festivals and they only count as one concert. It would be nice to check that I went to day 1 of a festival, or all days, etc. and have that count as separate concerts.
