FAQ: What is a 'Historian' user?
To recognize users who have been active for at least one year and contribute a lot in terms of documenting concerts and helping improve the data, we award them 'Historian' status.
Examples of this are:
- Users who add a substantial amount of photos/videos to concerts
- Users who add contextual notes or comments to concerts
- Users who submit requests to merge duplicate data
- Users who correct inaccurate/missing concert data
The main perks to Historian status are:
- You get an ad-free experience
- Your profile will randomly be featured on the homepage as a 'Featured Historian'
- There is a 'Historian' badge on your profile
- You can now add and edit concerts and other content, like photos and videos, to a concert without adding that concert to your Personal Concert Archive (see this article for more information: https://www.concertarchives.org/backstagepass/new-historian-add-edit-concert-features/)
- You can access the Historian: Compare Concerts tool (see this article for more information: https://www.concertarchives.org/backstagepass/new-feature-for-historians-compare-concerts-and-report-errors/)
- You can now request Concerts for Removal
- You can add concerts dating back to 1800 instead of 1946
