Blank or loose date
It would be great to add a show without requiring the date. I have a number of shows where I have photos so I know the bands and the venue, but can't find the exact dates in my records or on the internet. An ideal scenario would be to include whatever info you have (for some I have the year or the month or a general sense of a few months in which it might have happened) and maybe check box to indicate that it's not an exact date or even leave it completely blank and put in the notes section the info of approximately when you think it took place.

I also think on balance this is a great feature request. I want to reach back to around 1990 and it would be good fun to be able to piece together events that are very fuzzy in the memory with the help of the community of users.

I agree. I know I attended several concerts in 1990-1992 that I can narrow down within months and even closer based on their tour history but my particular concert in not listed in any case. Exact date unknown would be great, at least until someone can come along later and has a ticket shat shows that exact date it was and update it.

That makes a lot of sense to me. I have been able to fill in most missing pieces of info from 2001 and beyond and agree that lots of lazy duplicates would be a pain.

I like the idea of an 'Exact Date Unknown' checkbox, which, when ticked, would enable the user to enter minimal date information, such as just the year or month and year only. My fear would be that lazy users would simply 'tick the box' without undertaking any research. Maybe only allow it for concerts prior to the year 2000 as I would expect an online search would find almost anything since then. I've held back adding a concert from around 1987 because I can't find the details anywhere online.
